On Monday we had the pleasure of going to Mrs Wall’s class to the Year 5 exhibition. Class 5 loved it and Year 5 were amazing. Your work displayed was fantastic and your interaction with the Year 2’s was brilliant. You should be very proud of yourselves.

atlas chrome books

This afternoon the children used an atlas to locate continents, oceans and countries on a world map. They used the contents page and index to help them. The children then used the chrome books to research where animals originate from and where landmarks are located around the world. Finally, the children used Bee-Bots to direct themselves around the world map. They then used string to look at which continents they crossed.

Today we made a door display to celebrate the book that we have all enjoyed most this week. The book is ‘Tree’ by Britta Teckentrup.

Thoroughly Thrilling Thursday

We had such an amazing morning yesterday. We made predictions about what we thought might happen to our houses and how long they would take to burn. Then we went outside and burnt our houses. We positioned our hoses close together, like the narrow streets and crammed houses of London in 1666. Charlie set our houses alight. We watched the fire spread from one house to another. Once they had finished burning, all that was left was ash. After that, we went back to class and did some brilliant writing.
