MyMaths

Well done to those children who have completed their challenge on MyMaths. I’ve just checked and most of you have completed your task. I can see who has completed it and how you got on. You still have time to do it if you haven’t already. We will be setting a new challenge on Friday.

A few parents have asked how to access MyMaths on a tablet. There is an app called ‘Puffin Academy’ which you can download for free. ┬áThank you to all of the parents for your perseverance and support.

If you have any questions then please come and see me.

Dont forget to enjoy a book at home even if you can’t write it in your reading log.

See you tomorrow.

Literacy

Today we used similes in our sentences and worked together in groups to describe what the girl in the story looked like.

We noticed that she had a starfish in her hair and that her hand looked a bit like a starfish too! We thought that we could use smilies, verbs and adjectives altogether to describe what the rest of her body was ‘like’ to make a fantastic sentence – check out how amazing they are!

Our First Week in Year 2

Class 5 have had a wonderful start to the Year. On Wednesday we had our Sparkling Start for our theme ‘Land Ahoy’. We visited different coasts around the United Kingdom. We had delicious ice creams, we built sandcastles, rode on donkeys, went rock pooling, paddled our feet and made a kite to fly outside.
Class 5 should be very proud of themselves, they have settled in to Year 2 and have worked their socks off!
